His Excellency Peter HUNTER Esquire Lieutenant Governor of the Province of Upper Canada &c &c &c |
|
The Petition of David ALEXANDER Humbly Sheweth That Your Petitioner is a Native of Scotland & arrived in the lower Province of Canada in the year '74, he served in the capacity of a private Soldier in His Majesty's 84th Regiment for the space of five Years as his Discharge will most amply demonstrate, that pecuniary pursuits induced your Petitioner to leave the Province immedeatly after the reduction neither did he return untill March '99. That Your Petitioner never did receive any Lands or any Order for Land from Government humbly solicits your Excellency In Council for the usuall quantum of Land granted to a Person of his Discription, he also most fervently implores that Your Excellency in Council would be so indulgent as to grant him a lease of the Commons in the 4th Concession lying between Elizabethtown & Yong for such term of time and Conditions as Your Great Goodness & wisdom may be pleased to dictate. And in Duty Bound will Ever Pray--
David ALEXANDER
