The Petition of John ARNOLD Most Humbely begs Leave to inform your Honour that I arived in this Province early in July Last and hath been Imployed at Goverment Mill on the Humbe by John WILLSON Esquire and being Desires to become a Settler in the province Most Humbely Prays your Honour in Councill to Grant Your Petitioner a portion of Land as in your Wisdom Shall be thought Proper under the New Regulations-- And your Petitioner as in Dutey bound Shall Ever Pray John ARNOLD September 16th 1798 March 23d 1799 Petitioner has two Yoke of Oxen & is desirous to go on Yonge Street. I hereby Certify that the father of the within petitioner in the year 1776 in East Jersey moved his family (Consisting of his Wife and ten Small children) your petitioner being one of the number in to the british Loins and entred in the Servis Under me with his team I then being forage Master Under Under [sic] Comecery James CHRISTY and Continued a Very Usefull Man in the Servis till the armey Moved to Hilsbury
