The Petition of Frances DONGAN, Sarah GRANT, Mary BARNES, Elizabeth WATKINS, & Hanah POLLARD Widows of Provincial Officers killed in different Actions with the Rebels in North America. Sheweth, That your Lordship’s Petitioners having lost their Husbands in His Majesty’s Service, (and there being no Pensions for them, as established in the Regular Forces); must, when his Majesty’s Bounty of one Year’s Pay is expended, be reduced with their Families to the utmost Distress. Therefore most humbly entreat your Lordship’s humane Consideration of their very unhappy Situation, and that Your Lordship will be pleased to lay their distress before His Majesty from whose great Goodness they can alone hope for Relief. And they as in Duty bound will ever pray. Signed.
