Sir Your letter of the 20th of this Month informing me of the Very honorable Donation of the Militia of King’s County for the purpose of Recruiting or making other provision for the Battalion now raising under the Command of Colo. FANNING has been laid before Sr. Wm. HOWE who testified much Satisfaction upon the Occasion. I assure you the Very liberal manner in which this contribution was made, and the compliment paid to me in the distribution of the amount, is extremely flattering and agreeable to me, and I shall have a singular pleasure in transmitting to His Majesty through His Secretary of State the Loyal testimony given by the inhabitants of King’s County of their zeal for the Interest of their sovereign & The Constitution
