Flushing Fly 11th Feby. 1783 Sir, I am honored with your letter of 3d Instant, covering a particular state of the treatment you have received form Lieut. John SARGENT, of the Regiment, which I have the Honor to Command. I have already spoke to Mr. SARGENT, and it shall be my care to write him immediately, urging him to do you that Justice, which you merrit, at his hands. How soon I have received his definitive answer I will transmit you a Copy, in order that You may regulate Your future Conduct, or take what other steps you shall find necessary on the occasion. I am sorry to hear of your indisposition.
