Niagara 19 August 1783

Sir

This letter will be delivered to you by Mr. James CLEMENT, who goes with two men of the Kings Regiment into the Indian Country, to see if they can get some fatt Cows or Bullocks for me fit to kill,

you are to give them every assistance in your Power, and if any are to be got, you are to make the Bargain & be answerable to the Indians for the money;

or they may Send down a Sober honest Indian here to receive the money, when they Please or Send him with the Party,

the usual Price was 30 dollars, but Should the Cattle be Large and fatt, 36 dollars is not too much, however get them as Cheap as you can for we must have Some at all Events.

I am Sir
Your most Obedient Servt.
