To Sir Henry CLINTON, Knight of the most honourable Order of the Bath &c. &c. May it please your Excellency, We the Subscribers Inhabitants of Suffolk County, beg leave to address your Excellency, in behalf of our Loyal Majr. Fredrick HUDSON, who for his firm Attachment to our Happy Constitution was in the month of Decemr. last taken & Carried to New England a Prisoner by a Detachment of Mr. Parsons Brigade- Being very sensible of his unhappy Situation, & the Distressed feelings of his Family, as also the Wasting Condition of his Intrest, And that the whole of these Calamities are come upon him for his Loyalty and his Forwardness & Assiduity in Governments Service which Considerations Induce us humbly to pray your Excellency to think of his unhappy Situation, and if possible you can, Consistantly, Direct some mthod whereby he may be restored to his Family, his Friends, & this County; that he may, is the Earnest Prayer of yr Excellencys most Obt. Huml. Servts.
