The petition of Capt. DALY's Company of Volunteers in the Kings Royal Regt. of New York Humbly Sheweth That your Excellency's petitioners having at all times Behaved themselves as true and loyal Subjects to his Majesty Came on that account to this province at Certain Sundry times and Joyned the Kings Royal Regt. of New York as Volunteers and hath at all times Exerted themselves in his Majestys Service to the Utmost of their abillitys. That your Excellencys petitioners naver Inlisted as Soldiers nor do not Intend to Inlist, having left there Families behind them In the province of New York, Suffering through poverty and Nakedness being Stript and plundered of all they had by the Rebels. That your Excellencys petitioners hath at divers Times been presed and affronted by the Regimental Orders of the Afore Said Regt. That your Excellencys pettitioners being Inhabitants of the province of New York Thinks themselved Improper persons to Garrison this province and humbly requests your Excellency to Forward them with the Most Convenient Expedition to the Citty of New York Otherwise they may be applyed to better purpose as Volunteers in Reducing his Majestys Rebellious Subjects and in Recovering their Distressed families and Defending the province to which the[y] properly belong. And your Excellencys Petitioners as in Duty Bound Shall Ever pray.
