My Lord,

The Hire of the vessel, which is to carry the Officers & voluntiers of the Rangers to Quebeck &c. is Three hundred & fifty Pounds Sterling-

She belongs to Mr. BIRD of this City & is now in every respect ready to sail-

Will Your Lordship be pleased to direct this money to be paid before the vessel sails-

The Officers have not Money for this Purpose, therefore Pray your Lordship to have it advanced & stopt out of their Pay on their first Musters

I am anxious to have them round to Hallifax & Quebeck as no doubt before this time many Recruits are arrived there, and therefore intreat your Lordship to procure an Order on the Paymaster here, with Directions to have the same Stopt at Hallifax out of the first Musters that we made of the Two Battalions, which will lay me under a very great Obligation, added to the many I have Received from your Lordship.
