Sir Being obliged to get under way the instant I embarked the eleventh of August, and not having it in my pour to send on Shore for a Serjt. McDONALD who intentionally keept out of the way contrary to my Orders, and as he has many Accounts to setle, as well as money to answer for, Col. DONKIN and I join in requesting that he may not meet with any countinance from his many fawlls representations which we are informed he has been endevouring to use but request the favor that he may be in Custody by the Commandants permission till he can be sent here to the Battalion; and I am with esteem Yours sincerely &c
