Opinion on James Glass Memorial

Comptrollers Office 8th August 1786.

My Lords,

In obedience to Your Lordships Commands signified to us in Mr. STEELE's Letter of the 4th Instant, praying to be

"allowed the Amount of Stoppages made from his Pay for Provisions from the 17th January 1781 to the 10th May 1783, during which time he was a Prisoner in America; and directing us to consider the same, and report to Your Lordships our Opinion thereon."

We have considered the said petitions, and are of Opinion that as Serjeant GLASS has not ascertained, by proper Authority, the Period for which he desires repayment of the Stoppages, such payment cannot be recommended until the demand is supported by proper Vouchers.

We have the nonor to be with great Respect,

My Lords,
Your Lordships,
most obedient and
most humble Servants
John DICK
Wm. MOLLESON
