My Lord The Good Countenance your Lordship have ether two Show me, Induce me to Lay the following narative before you, hopeing you will be so good as fraternine me to His Excellency the Commander in Chief, that I have been an Officer Since Jany. 1757 and a Lieutenant Since July 1758 and Came to Country in Novr. 1775 and took the first opportunity in joyning a party of Loyalists in North Carolina & have been ever Since with the Army. That my absence from my native Country has disappointed me, in a Compy. in the New Highland Regiments and must have been amongst one of the oldest Capt. in any of the battalions and that it is well know to many Officers here that I could have easyly raised my quota of men, therefore I hope you Lordship will Consider my Case and Laid it before his Excellency, as there is now many vacancey for Company. hopeing your Lordship will please to pardon this freedom.
