Loyalist Muster Rolls |

This was one of the first Provincial cavalry units, raised during the occupation of Philadelphia in early 1778. While they were an independent troop, they were at various times attached to the Queen's American Rangers and British Legion, although dressed in red while the others were in green. They served on all the outposts of New York until embarking on the Charlestown Expedition in December of 1779. Shortly thereafter they were incorporated permanently into the British Legion and ceased to be an independent unit. There are no known rolls for this troop in 1778. All 1779 rolls are in the National Archives of Canada, RG 8, "C" Series, Volume 1862 and one is in the Dreer Collection of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania. For additional information on this unit, please see the Regimental History of the Bucks County Light Dragoons.
