Certificate of Services I do hereby Certify that Ensign Roger STEVENS, was employed in the Scouting Service for the purpose of procuring intelligence under my Direction by order of his Excellency the Commander in Chief, and that he was very Serviceable in that employ Going sundry times into the Enemies Country in the Depth of Winter, when it was very difficult, if not impossible to find any other person to under take it, and I have heard his Excellency General HALDIMAN frequently Express his Approbation of Mr. STEVENS’s Conduct and faithful Services.
