He has a Wife & three Children but they are not free. These things were taken from him in the beginning of the Rebellion afterwards he joined Lord DUNMORE, & worked for the Army. There is no Certificate annexed to his Memorial & no proofs of his property. He says he has papers to shew that he was free at that time, being asked whether he can give any proof that he had this property, he says he cannot.
Entd. — Decision
This Man tells a very incredible Story as to his Property which he says was taken from him by Lord DUNMORE’s Corps, & he afterwards says that he joined Lord DUNMORE. This is the sort of thing which would have required pretty strong proof to Support but he not only gives no proof of it but admits that he can give none therefore we pay no Credit to the Story & think him in no degree entitled to the Bounty of Government.
