It is hereby certified, that Mr. Thomas BANNISTER, late of Rhode Island, did in the month of October 1777 join a company of Volunteers in his Majesty's service, under the Commission & command of Sir Wm. HOWE. That he continued to do duty with the said Company in November following, when I departed for Philadelphia and England; and was considered by me, & the Company who then did military duty, at their own expence, as a Loyalist faithfully attached to His Majesty's Government. J WENTWORTH Halifax Nova Scotia I know that Mr. Thomas BANISTER joined the Company above mentioned, and have always esteemed him to be a loyal subject, faithfully attached to his Majesty's Government.
