Witness of behalf of Benjamin Baynton of Pennsylvania

I hereby certify, that Captain Benjamin BAYNTON, was among the first, that join'd the British Forces in America; that he serv'd as a Subaltern six years in a Regiment, which I rais'd at Philadelphia call'd the Pennsylvania Loyalists, during which Period his Conduct was that of a gallant and good Officer; that in storming a Spanish Redoubt in West Florida he receiv'd a shot through the arm and a wound from a Bayonet; and that during the Siege of Pensacola he narrowly escap'd with his life being on Duty in a Redoubt, which was blown up by the Spaniards and in which great part of the men were destroyed.
