Samuel OGDEN Esquire late one of His Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for the County of Morris in East New Jersey & Lieut. Coll. of Militia of Said County and Richard KEMBLE Esquire of Mount Kemble in the Town of Morris, in the County aforesaid being duly Sworn on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God, depose & say that they were well acquainted with the Farm of Philip VAN CORTLAND Esquire on which he lived in Hanover in the County of Morris Aforesaid at the time he was driven from the same & joined the British Army, & that they verily believe the sum of Twelve hundred pounds to be the just value thereof & the Improvements thereon.
And Also that they were well acquainted with the personal Estate on said Farm, and that they verily believe the Account of the Articles mentioned to have been thereon in the within estimate to be right and just.
And they do further say the said Farm was confiscated and sold by a law of the State of New Jersey and is now in possession of the purchaser.
