I do hereby Certify that Archd. McDUGALD Join'd His Majestys Troops in Georgia in the Year 1779. That he was Captured and Confin'd in Prison for many Months in Charles Town South Carolina by the Enemy; That he was appointed Colonel of the Cumberland Militia in North Carolina By Colonel CRAIG, and that what is set forth in His Memorials is truth to my Knowledge. Mr. Archd. McDUGALD during the different Champaigns [sic] in the Southern Colonies behaved with Great zeal and Firmness and on every occasion with uncommon Spirit and Gallantry he is therefore in my Oppinion Justly intitled to the Notice and attention of Government.
