I do hereby Certify that Mr. Archd. McDUGALD was represented to me during my Command in the Province of North Carolina as a man of undoubted Loyalty and attachment to His Majesty's Government and Service in Consequence of which I did appoint him to be Colonel of the Loyal Militia of Cumberland County, in which Capacity he performed his duty Intirely to my Satisfaction particularly in an Action in which Colonel McNEILL was kill'd after which he Conducted his Party and Prisoners to Wilmington a March of Considerable length Dificulty and Hazard. Given at Londonderry in Ireland this 29th November 1787.
