By James Henry CRAIG Esqr. Major in His Majesty's 82d Regiment, Commanding a Detachment of His Majesty's Troops in North Carolina &c To Archibald McDUGALD Esqr. Having received Sufficient Testimony of Your Loyalty and zeal for His Majesty's Service and relying on Your Courage and good Conduct, I do hereby appoint you to be Colonel of the Loyal Militia of Cumberland County. You are therefore diligently and carefully to Discharge the Duty of Colonel as aforesaid Obeying all Orders and Directions which you may receive from any Superior Officer in His Majesty's Service, and the Inferior Officers and all others His Majesty's Subjects of that and every other Regiment are hereby directed and required to obey you as Colonel.
