The Memorial of John EAGER late of Northborough in the Province of the Massachusetts Bay, now resident in Annapolis Royal in the Province of Nova Scotia Humbly Sheweth, That Your Memorialist, who is a native of New England has been always Loyal, and steadily attached to the British Government, and openly opposed from the beginning the unlawful measures which brought on the Late American War, and thereby rendered himself so obnoxious to the Kings Enemies, that in the Year 1776, they committed him to Jail, where he was confined untill the beginning of the Year 1777, when he escaped from Prison and fled for safety to New York then in possession of his Majesty's Troops. That he remained in New York during the War and for a considerable Time faithfully served his Majesty in the Commissary Generals department, often did military Duty in a Volunteer Company, and was always ready and willing to risk his life in support of his Majesty's Government. That Your Memorialist in consequence of his Loyalty to his Majesty and attachment to the British Government has been banished his native country, and compelled to abandon his Estate which has been Confiscated and sold by the American Government, the Value whereof is particularly, and fairly stated, in the Schedule annexed. Your Memorialist therefore prays that his Case may be taken into your consideration in order that your Memorialist may be enabled under your report to receive such Aid or Relief as his Losses and services may be found to deserve.
