By Virtue of the Power and Authority given me by Lieut. Colonel John Hamilton Commandant of a Corps of Provincials now raising under the Title of the Royal North Carolina Regiment, I do hereby Authorjse and Appoint you to Enlist Men for the said Corps to Serve for Three Years or during the Rebellion, and for so doing this shall be your Warrant. Given under my hand at Charlestown this 6th day of January 1781.

MANSON Instructions, You are to raise as your Quota Sixty Men, that is to say, for your Lieutenant 18 Men, for your Ensign 12 men the naming of them two you will in that Case be entitled to; Three Guineas Bounty Money is allowed by Government for Levy money, you and your Inferior Officers to receive Pay agreeable to the mode established by General Howe by Order the 24th April 1777.

I do hereby Certify that in Consequence of the above Warrant there was Twenty Eight men raised for and Joined the regimt. at the Expence of Ensign Manson, but the unfortunate Capture of Lord CORNWALLIS Army in Virginia put an End to recruiting, particularly in No. Carolina, Which prevented the Completion of his Company, and he was therefore obliged to abide by his first appointment.
