This is to Certify that the bearer Mr. Joel STONE, a Refugee from Connecticut, and formerly belonging to Governor Wentworth’s Company of Volunteers, was quartered at Flushing, near me on Long Island. That he turn’d out with the Regt. of Militia which I had the honor to Command, upon every alarm or invasion of the Enemy, which were frequent from it’s vicinity to the New England shore, and that he ever exerted himself for the honor of his Majesty, and support of his Government, during the late Rebellion in America.
