To the Honorable Commissioners appointed by Act of Parliament for enquiring into the Losses & Services of the American Loyalists |

The Memorial of Isaac BELL late of Stamford in Connecticut now in Nova Scotia Sheweth That your Memorialist was an Inhabitant of Stamford many years before the Rebellion began & from Loyalty to his Majesty & veneration for the British Government, early felt the vengance of Mobs Committees & Imprisonments. That your Memorialist from motives truly Loyal left his Interest & connections & put himself under the protection of his Majesty’s Forces then at New York. While at New York your memorialist contributed much towards supplying the Garrison by furnishing Vessels for wood & other Services during the war. Your Memorialist having his Property Confiscated & sold by the Rebel State in 1783 removed to St. John in Nova Scotia in order to Settle his Family. Your Memorialist therefore Pray that his Case may be taken into your Consideration in order that your memorialist may be enabled under your Report to receive such aid or Relief as his Losses & Services may be found to deserve.
