The Memmorial of Elihu CROOFOOT late of the County of Fairfield in the Colony of Connecticut but now of St. John in the Province of New Brunswick Most Humbly Sheweth That your Memmorialist as Early as the year 1776 was Compelled to fly to the Royal Army then at New York on account of his Loyalty to his King and firm Attachment to the british Goverment and During the Course of the war your Memmorialist hath Rendered Goverment his Services as Services [sic] as Serjant in the Prince of Wales American Regment and on account of his Said Loyalty hath Sustained the Losses State[d] in the Schedule and Estimate hereunto annexed. Your Memmorialist therefore Prays that his Case May be taken into your Consideration in order that under your Honours Report your Memmorialist may be Enabled to Receive Such aid and Relief as his Losses and Services may be found to Deserve.
