Last Friday was celebrated the Anniversary of the KING’s BIRTH DAY, when His Majesty entered upon his Forty-second Year; at Noon the Cannon at the Battery were fired, which was followed by those of the Men of War, Cruizers and Merchant Ships in the Harbour; His Excellency the Governor elegantly entertained some of the most respectable Personages on the Continent, with the Members of His Majesty’s Council, and the principal Inhabitants, every Tavern in the City and its Vicinity was crouded with Gentlemen, where all possible Demonstrations of Joy, Affection and Convivality were expressed on the Return of this Festival, a Day dear to every Friend of our most amiable and illustrious SOVEREIGN, and the admirable constitution of Old England.
