Commissy. Generals Office Sir By the General Order of the 17th Inst. I am instructed, that His Majesty has been graciously pleased to accord to the Non Commissioned Officers and Private Men of the Land Forces who may be reduced in Nova Scotia and wish to be settlers in that province the usual Rations of Provisions for One Year, but no notice is taken of the Commissioned Officers or of the Women and Children. You will therefore be pleased at my request to state this matter to His Excellency the Commr. In Chief and procure me His Excellencys Orders thereupon, suggesting to His Excellency's consideration the proprierty of Victualing the Officers, Non Commiss. Officers, Privates, Servants, Women and Children in the like manner as the Loyal Refugees have been Victualled, by which means the Expence of Rum will be saved, and The Officers, Women, Children and Servants Fed with little additional expence to the Crown.
