Bells of Charlestown

New York January 31st 1783

Sir,

I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of Yesterday.

In answer I beg leave to inform you that the only Bell belonging to Charles Town now here, is a Small one of about one hundred pounds in weight which was taken from the Presbeterian meeting.

The Ring of Bells belonging to St. Michaels Church were eight in Number, they Varied considerably in Size, I am Sorry it is not in my power to give you their dimensions.

Those Bells were sent home in the Ship Flora Francis AYRSOM Master, and Consigned to Mr. Robert GRANT at the House of Robert GRANT Esqr. Warwick Court Warwick Lane London.
