King's American Regiment
Rawdon to Fanning

Camp, May 19th 1781.

Sir

Our unsettled circumstances must be my apology for not having sooner returned you thanks for your very obliging letter.

As I know your attachment to your Regiment, I take great pleasure in assuring you that their behaviour both in Garrison and in the Field has been highly meritorious;

should it ever be in my power I shall feel a sincere satisfaction in rendering them any service.

I have the honor to be,
Sir, your most obedt. servt.
RAWDON

[Colonel Edmund FANNING]
