Petition of Peter Anderson of Virginia

To the Honorable Gentlemen of the
American Treasury

Sheweth

Your Petitioner Peter ANDERSON lived at Virginea was a Sawyer by Trade at the begining of the Disturbances

there he was pressed into the Land Service under Capt. FORDYCE Lord DUNMORE Commandr. in Chief where he remained untill his Capt. was Killed & that Day was taken Prisoner where he remain’d for about six Months at which time he was Sentenced to be hung

But made his Escape out of Prison & remain’d in the Woods untill the English poss[ess]ed Virginea When he came & deliver’d Himself up where he remain’d untill they went to Charles Town where he worked in the Kings–Yard untill Charlestown was Vacated at which Time he was sent Home in the Roman Emperor Capt. GRIEVE Commandr.

When pressed at Virginea had goods & Effects To Wit
