Memorial of Isaac Friot of New York

To the Honourable Commissioners
Appointed by act of Parliament for
enquiring into the losses & Services of the
American Loyalists, at the Office of
American Claims at Halifax.

The Memorial of Isaac FRIOT late of Saratoga, County of Albany, Province of New York, but now of Sorel, Province of Quebec

Sheweth

That from the unhappy Rise, of the troubles in America, he was strongly Attached to the British Sovereign & English Constitution.

That he Adhered Stedfastly to his Allegiance & Exerted himself to the Utmost of his Ability, Using the Utmost of his Endeavours, to Promote the Interest of the British Nation.

That he Piloted Men to Genl. BURGOY’N in his Campaign, & was appointed Lieut. Under Colonel FESTERs Corps of Loyalists, there Continued until Genl. BURGOYN’s Capitulation, then made his Way to Canada, then he was Employ’d in Secret Service by Government, A[f]terwards he was Employ’d by Capt. BARNES, as Conductor in Qr. Master Genls. Department, as may fully Appear by the Evidences & References of Elexr. CAMPBELL, Saml. PERRY & Others if required.
