Witness for Stephen Holland of New Hampshire

I do Certify that in the Year 1779 being then a Captain in the Late Prince of Wales's American Regiment then at Rhode Island, Stephen HOLLAND who was also a Capt. in sd. Regiment, with a number of Men inlisted by him for a Corps to be formed in consequence of a Warrant from Sir Henry CLINTON of which he was to have the command rendered many important Services to Government-- That on the evacuation of Rhode-Island these Men were turned over to the Prince of Wales's Regiment; for which I am persuaded Capt. HOLLAND has never Received any Indemnification, and that in Recruiting them he must have been at much expence.

John COLLETT
late Capt. in the
P: W: A Regt.
