Walter Butler’s Request to Return to Niagara 1780 |
Quebec 3rd Novr. 1780 Sir, Your Excellency having been Graciously Pleased to say I should have the Indulgence of a Purchase in an Establishd. Regiment; in That case, my Return to Niagara this Fall will be the more Necessary: as being Paymaster, to Settle my accounts with the different Companies; which, next Spring the Service may not admit of my going up, for that Purpose. Likewise to give in, agreeable to your Excellency’s directions, a State of the Accounts of the Rangers Prisoners with the Rebels, for whom Subsistance has been drawn. it’s late in the Season, and unless I set off very soon, I shall not be able to get to Niagara. I Humbly request Your Excellency will take the above into Consideration, and Permit me to leave this ere it may be too late.
I am, Your Excellency’s His Excellency General Great Britain, British Library, Additional Manuscripts, No. 21874, folio 181. Back to ---> Regimental History Main Page
