Petition of Henry Siebert

The humble Petition of Serjeant Henry SIEBERT of the Troop of Hussars &c &c.

Most humbly sheweth, that your Petitioner has been confined ever since the 6th of July, on account of a Desertion, which had taken place that day, and as a Court of Enquiry held in consequence thereof, has been pleased to express; that Your Petitioner has not been guilty of the Crime laid to his Charge, being order'd in a particular manner by Lt. MOLITOR, to sleep with him the Night, from the 5th to the 6th. Your Petitoner humbly beg's for a Court Martial, where he flatters himself, it will appear he was not made a Serjeant of the Troop, before he signalized himslef by his Wound received in the Yersey's, but that Lt. MOLITOR being often in likor, has at several time ill used him, in the presence of the men, and cannot account how it happened, that the favour of sleeping with the Lieut. was only confer'd on him that night, when the 11 Hussars deserted.

In hopes Your Petitioner will meet with your generous Protection, he for ever will pray.
